Randy Moss is set to go into the Hall of Fame this weekend, and even though he has been out of the league for a while, there are still a lot of players in the NFL who looked up to him as a kid. One of those guys is current Minnesota Vikings wide receiver, Adam Thielen.

Thielen recalls in a story written by Nick Kelly of The Athletic spending countless hours in his backyard trying to imitate what Moss did on Sundays.

“I had my dad throw me passes and I said, ‘Hey, I’m going to be Randy this time’ and go up and get the ball,” Thielen said.

Thielen got a Moss jersey during Moss's rookie season, and he wore it so much that the jersey was gray and not purple by the time he was done with it.

“It wasn’t purple anymore,” Thielen said. “It was like gray from being worn out from the sun.”

As Moss goes into the Hall of Fame, Thielen is proud and happy for the guy that had such a lasting impact on his football career. If it wasn't for Moss making the leaping catches in the end zone, Thielen might not have fallen in love with being a wide receiver, and we might not be talking about Thielen and Stefon Diggs being one of the best wide receiver combos in football.

“I am just so excited for him,” Thielen said. “Coming from someone who … he literally made a huge impact on me. I couldn’t be more happy for him to be in the Hall.”
