Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings had a chance to take control of the NFC North on Sunday night against the Chicago Bears. Instead, Cousins was pressured all night by the Khalil Mack and the rest of the Bears defense and they lost 25-20. After the game Cousins said he is humbled by the loss and will learn from it as he and the team continue to go forward.

“Any time you have a game like this you come back on Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday with a real sense of urgency,” Cousins said via the St. Paul Pioneer Press. “It certainly humbles you, and I think that’s a positive.”

Cousins and the Vikings had issues moving the ball because of the Bears pass rush, but Cousins also made a couple of questionable decisions. With the Vikings getting the ball trying to get a touchdown to take the lead, Cousins floated a ball to Laquon Treadwell that was picked off by Eddie Jackson and returned for a touchdown.

“I was trying to trust my eyes, and what I felt the (cornerback) do, I don’t know that he really did,” Cousins said, adding that the ball should’ve gone to Stefon Diggs in the flat instead. “Just playing fast in the moment I felt like the (cornerback) was squatting and he really wasn’t. And if he’s not squatting that means the safety is going to be in a different spot than where I maybe thought he would be. That led to the interception.”

Now the Vikings have to regroup with another Sunday Night Football game coming up next Sunday against the Green Bay Packers and if they want to make the playoffs, it's as close to a must-win as there can be at this point of the season.
