Kirk Cousins has been only with the Minnesota Vikings but he has already made quite the impression with his new team on and off the field. Vikings players have learned very quickly that Cousins will do anything for his teammates and always have their backs. Star safety Harrison Smith says Cousins is a guy who is going to walk the walk and is also the real deal.

“He walks the talk,” safety Harrison Smith said via ESPN. “He is a guy who is going to go lay it out there, run the ball for a touchdown, dive on third down, stand in the pocket and get hit by 300-pounders. No matter what, the guy gives everything he has. He is the real deal.”

The Vikings had a big decision to make this offseason deciding who they wanted to be their next quarterback. Sam Bradford, Kirk Cousins, and Case Keenum were all on the roster last year and they decided to let them all walk to sign Cousins.

So far this season Cousins has thrown for 1921 yards, 12 touchdowns and three interceptions. He seems to make all the right plays down the stretch of games, and with the Vikings defense things are looking up in Minnesota. Cousins has embrassed his leadership role and the last two weeks has given the pregame speech to the team before the game. That was a job ususally given to Everson Griifen but with him being away from the team, Cousins has stepped up to the plate.

“It was important because Linval asked me to, and you don’t say no to Linval,” Cousins said.
