It is unknown how long the Minnesota Vikings could be without their star running back. Dalvin Cook left Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers in the third quarter with an apparent shoulder injury. Later, the team announced that Cook would not return to the game.

The Vikings star has enjoyed a breakout 2019 season rushing for 241 times for 1,108 yards and 13 touchdowns while adding 50 catches for 503 yards as a pass catcher.

Mike Boone, a second-year back out of Cincinnati functioned as the team's lead back with Cook gone. the 5-foot-10, 206-pound running back finished with 13 carries for 56 yards.

With the 29-10 win against the Chargers, the Vikings move 10-4 on the season as the battle the Green Bay Packers for an NFC North title.

With the Vikings matching up against the Packers on Monday Night Football next week, Cook's health will be closely monitored throughout the week. Without their star, it might be difficult for the Vikings, who rank fourth in the NFL in rushing offense to effectively run the ball.

This season, Cook is one of just nine players to have over 1,000 rushing yards and his 13 rushing touchdowns is tied with Derrick Henry of the Tennessee Titans for the best mark in the league.
