The Minnesota Vikings are heading into their Week 9 matchup with the Detroit Lions very confident with their ability to get the win. Unfortunately, they may have to play the game without one of their key offensive weapons.

According to a report from Courtney Cronin of ESPN, star wide receiver Stefon Diggs is questionable to play against the Lions due to a nagging rib injury that he has been dealing with. Minnesota also elevated wide receiver Chad Beebe from the practice squad to the active roster.

The roster move may further highlight that the Vikings doubt Stefon Diggs (ribs) will be able to play Sunday. Diggs said Thursday that he anticipates playing, but he did not practice this week and is listed as questionable on the final injury report.

Diggs has been an absolute monster so far this season for the Vikings. He has caught 58 passes for 587 yards and four touchdowns throughout the first eight games of the season.

Kirk Cousins has been lucky to play with two of the most talented receivers in the game. In addition to Diggs, the Vikings have had Adam Thielen leading the way at wide receiver.

Thielen has actually been one of the most productive wide receivers in the league. He has caught 74 passes for 925 yards and six touchdowns.

If Diggs is unable to play, a lot more pressure will be placed on Thielen. Other players like tight end Kyle Rudolph and wide receiver Laquon Treadwell will be asked to step up. Aldrick Robinson, a wide receiver who played with Cousins in Washington, could also received an increased role.

Hopefully, Diggs will be able to tough it out and play this week. If not, the Vikings can only hope that one of their other receivers steps up and helps fill his shoes.
