Charles Barkley is easily one of the most entertaining personalities in the NBA today. The NBA Hall of Famer has been a staple of “Inside the NBA” for a reason: he's damn funny. His latest antics involve him getting into it with Golden State Warriors fans. The Chuckster said this about Dubs fans:

“I just can't pick the Warriors because I hate their fans. Their fans are obnoxious… I just wanna see these people suffer.”

Naturally, this statement earned the ire of many fans across the world. In a recent podcast appearance, though, Charles Barkley admitted something surprising about his true feelings about the Warriors. Barkley admitted that he normally didn't have a dog in the race, and that he was playing it up to entertain the viewers. (via NBC Sports)

“I mean, your job is to make sure people enjoy the sport. You, hopefully, you have good games, but when you, when you're announcer, you want an analyst, whatever… You want people to respond to whatever you say. So whether you boo me or cheer me, as long as they. … I'm like Roman Reigns. As long as they acknowledge me, I'm doing my job.”

At the end of the day, the Chuckster is an entertainer. If what entertains fans is his open and frank dislike of Warriors fans, then you best believe that he'll lean into that in every way possible. You could say that he's playing the “heel” in this scenario, much like the WWE star Roman Reigns. Barkley also admitted that he isn't really a fan of any team left (seeing as his former teams have already been eliminated).

“But I normally don't care, like this Golden State-Dallas [series],” Barkley added. “I don't care who wins. Boston against Miami. I don't care who wins. You know what I care about, right? I'm ready for this to be over, so I can go play golf and fish every day.”

Never change, Chuck. Never change. We expect the Chuckster to put on his best “Tribal Chief” impersonation and continue to rile up Warriors fans as this series goes on.
