Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is inking a shoe endorsement deal with athletic brand Converse, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Green, who turns 30 years old on March 4, has been a key part of the three-time NBA champion Warriors in the past five years. The Dubs' luck ran out this season, however, with major injuries to All-Star guards Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry along with the offseason departure of two-time Finals MVP forward Kevin Duran.

The former All-Star forward has been a dynamic playmaker in the frontcourt, which was further unlocked when Warriors head coach Steve Kerr joined the franchise in summer 2014.

According to Wojnarowski, Green was formerly sponsored by athletic behemoth brand Nike. Converse used to be the premier shoe sponsor for NBA stars up until the 1980's, when they endorsed rivals Magic Johnson of the Los Angeles Lakers and Larry Bird of the Boston Celtics. The brand was purchased by Nike in 2003 and saw its star power decrease.

The most recent seen players wearing Converse were Phoenix Suns forward Kelly Oubre Jr. and retired Miami Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade, who later switched shoe endorsement with Chinese brand Li-Ning in 2012.

Draymond Green signed a four-year, $99 million contract extension with the Warriors in Aug. 2019, and he is signed through the 2022-23 season with a player option for the following campaign. This 2019-20, the veteran forward has averaged 8.0. points, 6.2 rebounds, and 6.2 assists in 28.4 minutes per game, shooting just 38.9 percent from the field and 27.9 percent from behind the 3-point arc.
