Narratives of a potential implosion in Golden State after Draymond Green and Kevin Durant exchanged fiery barbs during and after a loss to the LA Clippers have been left behind (like a ponytail). The Warriors had gone through their most trying stretch of the season and somehow managed to calm the waters by getting back to winning over the next few weeks, but Green hasn't forgotten the incessant media attention surrounding the team during their lowest point:

“I just really didn't give a damn [about what people outside the Warriors think],” Draymond Green said of those wanting to divide Green and Durant and the Warriors, according to ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk. “Because I know at the end of the day, no one wants to see us win again.

“They would love for us to break up, for it to be broken up by that,” Green continued. “Because they can't f***, can't nobody f***ing' beat us. So, I just look at it and laugh.”

The Warriors have been far from a well-oiled machine this season, actually having to earn their stripes during the first half of the season to notch the top spot in the West with beatdowns of the Denver Nuggets and Clippers to sustain their seven-game win streak.

A half-decade of outright dominance of the NBA world has put the Warriors in this predicament, the most-hated team headed toward a potential three-peat with a star-studded roster and great odds to capture its fourth title in five years.
