Golden State Warriors rookie power forward Eric Paschall will return from a hip injury on Wednesday against the Portland Trail Blazers after missing the past two games, according to the San Francisco Chronicle's Connor Letourneau.

Paschall, a first-year big man selected by the Warriors in the second round of the 2019 NBA Draft out of Villanova, is averaging 16.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game in 25 appearances while shooting 49.3% from the field. The 6-foot-6 Paschall is the third-leading rookie scorer, fifth among rookies in rebounding, and third in minutes per game.

Paschall has been a lone bright spot for the 5-23 Golden State team that is without major stars in Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Steve Kerr's Warriors have had to tank the season, prioritizing the development of several young players, like the first-year power forward Paschall, in an effort to make something out of a lost year that will have Thompson be sidelined into 2020 and likely have Curry gone as well.

Recently, teammate Draymond Green complimented Paschall's scoring ability, praising the former Wildcat for his raw talent in spite of experience in the NBA.

“I think he can (take more shots),” Green said per Anthony Slater of The Athletic. “I think it’s about finding the right spot to be in. Sometimes he can get a little lost out there, not knowing where to go. Just trying to help him find his spacing. Right now, he’s just scoring off raw talent. He really don’t know how to play the NBA game. As he figures out more and more the NBA game, how to get fouled, he’ll get better and better.”

Paschall and the Warriors face the Blazers on the road on Wednesday after two days off.
