The Golden State Warriors are dealing with a slew of injuries at the moment, but they could be getting some much-needed assistance back soon in the form of their former No. 2 overall pick, James Wiseman. According to Shams Charania, as part of Wiseman's return from his knee injury, the big man will take part in a couple of G-League games. Wiseman will reportedly join the Santa Cruz Warriors on Thursday and Sunday to get some minutes under his belt ahead of his return to NBA action.

This is a huge break for the Warriors, who have been without Draymond Green for a few weeks and still have no clear timetable on when he'll be back. The Warriors were also without Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, and Otto Porter during Monday's loss to the Denver Nuggets, though that was largely due to the nature of the team's schedule.

Still, getting Wiseman back in the rotation for the first time all season will be huge for the team, who have lacked depth down low throughout the year, relying heavily upon Kevon Looney, who is perhaps better served in a backup capacity.

Wiseman has been out since April of 2021, when he sustained the MCL injury. It's taken him 11 months, but the former Memphis product is finally nearing his return to the floor and is set this weekend to clear one of the final hurdles between him and his season debut.

Last year across 39 games, Wiseman averaged 11.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks per game, logging an average of 21 minutes per night.
