Once Kevin Durant of the Golden State Warriors hangs up his jersey for good, he might venture into owning a team in Seattle.

Per Nick Friedell of ESPN, Durant admitted that he's interested in owning a team someday, noting he would be especially intrigued if it was in Seattle — the city he first played in when he entered the NBA.

“Hell yeah. Of course I would. No matter if it's Seattle or any team, just to help young men grow. Or help men in the next phase of their lives as basketball players. Why not? Especially somebody who's gone through it and been through just about everything as an NBA player, outside of getting traded, I've been through pretty much everything.”

Durant's comments came after an NHL expansion team was awarded to Seattle. This gave the go signal to renovate Key Arena — the former home of the Seattle SuperSonics. Given this seemingly new spring of life, many believe that more sports teams will rise in Seattle. The 30-year-old Durant seems to fully know the nitty gritty details of owning a team. He seems to be really interested in the business aspect of things.

“I think the business side of it is obviously really fascinating to me,” Kevin Durant said. “How you can market and brand a team, how you can make the fan experience better? How you can just inject and infuse energy into a city?”

Reports reveal that Kevin Durant and business partner Rich Kleiman have gone through several meetings with CEOs. Time will only tell if these meetings will result in something good. But from the looks of it, Durant is close to figuring it out.
