It was a good day to be a Golden State Warriors fan on Friday night as superstar big man DeMarcus Cousins finally made his much-awaited debut for the Dubs.
Following the Warriors' 112-94 victory against the Los Angeles Clippers, Dubs superstar Kevin Durant gave his thoughts on Cousins' first outing in a Warriors uniform.
#Warriors’ Kevin Durant on DeMarcus Cousins’ debut – “He was great tonight. In 15 mins, he had 14 & 6. You turn that to 25 mins, that’s an easy 20 and 10. I like where he’s going, it’s a good first step, hopefully he keeps moving forward.” pic.twitter.com/VancCxhrf5

Despite playing only a limited amount of minutes, Cousins was definitely able to show that he still has it. It seems as though he has put his shattering Achilles injury behind him, and is ready to contribute to the Warriors and their quest for a three-peat.
Durant also joked about how Cousins received a standing ovation from the crowd in attendance despite fouling out after just 15 minutes of action.
#Warriors’ Kevin Durant on DeMarcus Cousins getting a standing ovation for fouling out – “Hopefully that’s the last time we give him a standing O after he fouls out. It was great to see him out there, on the court. I’m excited for him as we move forward with the season.” pic.twitter.com/lsOkXtGAN9

Durant went on to discuss Cousins' three-point shooting ability, and how the team intends to incorporate this to their offense.
#Warriors’ Kevin Durant on DeMarcus Cousins being open on his 3’s – “We’ve got a great offense. When we move bodies and the ball, a lot people will get open… They’re not just leaving him, we’re actually drawing and kicking and he was able to knock the shots down.” pic.twitter.com/AXctXBhFcO

Cousins made three out of his four attempts from deep this evening, and it appears that the Warriors have found yet another weapon from deep.
For his part, it was another ultra-efficient night for Durant who shot 8-of-13 from the floor en route to 24 points. The reigning back-to-back Finals MVP also contribute two three-pointers, seven rebounds, five assists, two steals, and two blocks in 35 minutes of play.
The Warriors are off on Saturday and Sunday, and are slated to take the court again on Monday against the LeBron James-less Los Angeles Lakers in Staples Center. There is no word on Cousins having to sit out games for rest purposes, so we fully expect him to suit up against the Lakers, especially after getting two days off to recuperate.
