Golden State Warriors superstar small forward Kevin Durant told reporters on Friday he's “getting there” as he recovers from a right calf strain.

The Warriors have already ruled Durant out for Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors, but KD could possibly play in Game 3 at Oracle Arena in Oakland.

The Warriors are down 0-1 in the series. It's the first time in the Steve Kerr era the Dubs are down 0-1 in a series. Game 2 of the Finals is on Sunday up in Toronto.

Durant is averaging 34.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.9 assists in the 2019 postseason while shooting 51.3 percent from the field, 41.6 percent from beyond the arc and 90.1 percent from the free-throw line. After losing Game 1 of the Finals, the Warriors are now 5-1 without KD in this year's playoffs.

The Warriors could certainly win Game 2 against the Raptors, but they will likely need Durant to win the overall series. Kawhi Leonard, Pascal Siakam and Marc Gasol proved to be too much for the Dubs in Game 1.

We can officially end the talk about the Warriors supposedly being better without Durant, too. KD is one of the most gifted scorers in NBA history. You don't get better as a team when he's not in the lineup.
