Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant made an appearance at Dyckman Park, one of New York's finest and most heralded legendary parks. The two-time Finals MVP had made appearances at Dyckman in 2011, taking on D.C. native Michael Beasley, as well as dropping by in 2016 for the summer league.

The perennial scorer made another appearance on Monday, though he would be taking the court only for a short time.

Durant's entrance caused plenty of hype, but the airball he originally shot with his first take deflated the enthusiasm away from the fans.

The former 2014 MVP quickly redeemed himself by rattling in a jumper, calling it quits after shooting 50 percent for the night.

Durant's appearance was more for enjoyment than the competition, as he and teammate (and also D.C. native) Quinn Cook sat courtside to admire the local talent battle it out during a hot summer night.

While this fell short of a legendary Rucker Park performance that has forever etched him as a streetball legend, it's still a positive sight to see the likes of Durant and other NBA players appreciating the local talent during their offseason.
