Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant will suit back up on Saturday against the Philadelphia 76ers, according to ESPN's Chris Haynes.

Durant missed Wednesday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves with a left thigh contusion, as Andre Iguodala logged the start, opening opportunities for forwards Nick Young and Omri Casspi, who made the most of the playing time with 12 and 13 points respectively.

Head coach Steve Kerr noted his star forward could have played if needed, but chose to play a more conservative approach as they're likely planning on a long playoff run.

Durant's 24.8 points per game weren't missed as sorely by the team, managing a 44-point third quarter against the Timberwolves after leading by only one point at the half. Young and Casspi provided a spark off the bench, giving Golden State a 19-point advantage heading into the fourth quarter.

The 10-year veteran is anxious to face rookie Ben Simmons, who has gotten off to a historical start to the season, tying Oscar Robertson as the only players to log 100 rebounds and 80 assists through their first 10 games in the league.

“Simmons for his age and the way he plays, he's a little different,” said Durant. “As far as knowing how the play, the feel for the game. He's still growing his game, I've seen him taking some pull-up jump shots. Obviously his shooting is not something people know him for, but he's confident taking a pull-up jump shot, playing fast, playing point guard, rebounding, his passing, he's creating for everybody.”
