Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson is set to be a free agent this summer, but the general consensus has always been that he will re-sign with the Warriors.

Well, his father, former NBA player Mychal Thompson, didn't mince any words when he was asked about Klay's free agency, saying that there is “no question” his son will re-up with Golden State, according to Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle.

The Warriors are expected to offer Thompson a five-year max deal.

Thursday night was not kind to Thompson, however, as he tore his ACL during the third quarter of Game 6 of the NBA Finals. He exited with 30 points in what was set to be a masterful performance had he been able to finish out the game healthy.

The 29-year-old played in 78 games during the regular season, averaging 21.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.1 steals over 34.0 minutes per game while shooting 46.7 percent from the floor, 40.2 percent from 3-point range and 81.6 percent from the free-throw line in what was actually a down year for the five-time All-Star.

Thompson, who played his collegiate basketball at Washington State, was originally selected by the Warriors in the first round (11th pick overall) of the 2011 NBA Draft.

It didn't take long for Thompson to stamp his name among the best long-range threats in the league, as he shot 41.4 percent from deep in his rookie campaign and has never shot under 40 percent from beyond the arc in any of his eight NBA seasons.

The Warriors fell to the Toronto Raptors in six games.
