It's been four years since Klay Thompson began offseason training with a completely clean bill of health. By no coincidence, that's also the same amount of time that elapsed between the Golden State Warriors winning the third and fourth titles of basketball's only ongoing dynasty.

Thompson, finally, is back to living his best summer life, reveling in another championship and honing his craft completely unencumbered. He let Dub Nation know about it on social media, too, splashing jumpers in the practice gym while streaming to Instagram.

“You know how good it feels to be back in this thing without having to rehab? Ah! And with four rings?! Come on!”

Thompson only worked himself up further from there.

Dating back to the league's inception, just 26 players have won at least five championships. Included in that exclusive group are all-timers like Bill Russell, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Michael Jordan. Steve Kerr boasts five rings, too, lucky enough to be a role player for the Chicago Bulls' second three-peat in the late 1990s and with Tim Duncan's San Antonio Spurs in 1999 and 2003.

Thompson, to no one's surprise, has every intention of joining Golden State's head coach on that hallowed list of the league's winningest players in history.

The Warriors will be challenged to defend their title in 2022-23, not only pushed by a bevy of experienced and up-and-coming contenders in the West, but several teams from the Eastern Conference that have added offseason reinforcements.

The LA Clippers and Denver Nuggets will be back to full-strength. The Memphis Grizzlies will be a year older. The Boston Celtics just added Malcolm Brogdon, while the Philadelphia 76ers filled the biggest holes on their roster. Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks aren't going anywhere.

Repeating as champions will be tough for Golden State. Feeding off Klay Thompson's rejuvenated summer spirit and their collective place back on top of the league, though, don't be surprised when the Warriors prove ready for the fight.
