Stephen Curry is set to return for the Golden State Warriors this season, putting them as a possible playoff team once again. While being asked about the expectations he has for the 2020-2021 season, Curry poked fun at his injury woes from last season, per Wes Goldberg of the Bay Area News Group.

Early in the 2019-2020 season, Stephen Curry would suffer a broken hand, causing him to miss the majority of the season. To be exact, he missed 60 games due to his hand injury, which led the Warriors to one of the worst seasons in their franchise's history.

In the five games that he did play in, Stephen Curry accounted for 20.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game while playing 27.8  minutes per game. Besides Curry, Klay Thompson missed the 2019-2020 season with a torn ACL that he sustained in the 2019 NBA Finals.

Of course, Thompson has unfortunately suffered a season-ending torn Achilles during the offseason, meaning he will miss his second consecutive season. Nevertheless, the return of Stephen Curry and the other talented players on the roster could still be enough to compete for a playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Stephen Curry will be joined by Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins, rookie James Wiseman, and Kelly Oubre Jr. this season. The three-point marksman looked his usual self in the preseason, making 13 of his 33 three-point attempts in three exhibition games.

The success of the Warriors this season likely relies upon the health of Stephen Curry and the other marquee members of the roster. Fans in the Bay Area and Curry himself are hoping that he can avoid the injury bug throughout the upcoming season.

Because of the injury to Klay Thompson, the Warriors — who would have been NBA title contenders with both Splash Brothers on the court — are now a much more mysterious team with relatively uncertain prospects. If anyone can carry them to a higher plane, however, it's Stephen Curry.
