The Golden State Warriors will look starkly different during this 2019-20 season, having hollowed out a large part of their roster after the departure of Kevin Durant and the hard cap that put them in a strenuous situation this summer. Head coach Steve Kerr is aware that only bringing back six players from last year's roster calls for some tweaks, especially after losing such a dynamic force with KD's and Klay Thompson's scoring.

“Yeah. For sure (we have to tweak the offense),” Steve Kerr admitted to Anthony Slater of The Athletic. “For sure. We’ll have to see what that means. I don’t think it’s going to look drastically different. But all you have to do is look at the roster and you see the continuity we’ve lost. When you lose continuity, it’s more important to have sets and calls that you can rely on. Random stuff gets more difficult if you don’t know each other well.”

The Warriors will have familiar faces return to the starting lineup like Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson — once he returns from injury. Yet there is also a wave of newcomers like Willie Cauley-Stein, Alec Burks, and Glenn Robinson III along with rookies Jordan Poole, Eric Paschall, and Alen Smailagic.

Though say goodbye to the scarce Curry and Durant pick-and-roll or the kick-out to a pump-faking Klay Thompson, as those won't be options for the majority of the season. Kerr will have to design an offense that makes the most of his players' abilities, including newly-minted All-Star D'Angelo Russell, who flourished as a playmaker last season.
