The Golden State Warriors started their current dynasty during the 2014-15 season led by rookie head coach Steve Kerr and different-looking Stephen Curry. The Warriors won a whopping 67 games in that season, and Curry won his first of two MVP awards averaging 23.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 7.7 assists, 2.0 steals, and 3.6 three-pointers per game. He was truly terrific, but the team embodied their slogan, “Strength in Numbers,” with every starter and reserve playing some kind of key role towards the franchise's first NBA Championship in exactly 40 years.

While many contributed, there was one player who actually (and playfully) predicated that the Dubs would be winning the championship in guard Leandro Barbosa. Exactly three years ago today on March 21, 2015, Barbosa led the Warriors to a 106-91 victory over the visiting Utah Jazz. In the game, which he came off the bench to play 27 minutes in, Barbosa finished as the Warriors' second leading scorer behind Stephen Curry with 19 points, two rebounds, and three steals on 8-10 shooting from the field.

After the game, he spoke with Warriors sideline reporter Rosalyn Gold-Onwude, where he made his bold prediction that the Warriors would win the 2015 NBA Championship.

Barbosa played 15 minutes per night that season and averaged 7.1 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.5 assists, but was key in bringing energy and scoring off the Warriors' bench whenever the Warriors needed it. Following the championship season, Barbosa returned to the Phoenix Suns, the team he shaped his career with, before electing to return to his home country of Brazil to play basketball with Franca Basquetebol Clube back in November of 2017.
