Before starting their ICU evening shirt on Wednesday, Shelby Delaney and her fellow nurses at the Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Oakland got a surprise ring from Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry to help boost their spirits.
According to the Mercury News, Delaney and her crew cheered when Curry — alongside his family — popped up on her iPhone to express thanks for the nurses' life-saving work during the coronavirus pandemic.

“I can’t thank God enough for what you’re doing and just the sacrifice, the selflessness and the way everybody’s coming together. Thank you so much for what you do, your heart and the inspiration you provide for everybody,” the Warriors star told the excited Delaney and her colleagues.

According to Delaney's Facebook post, the gratitude goes both ways.

“Yesterday was one of the coolest moments of my life; I was able to meet my hero, Stephen Curry (via FaceTime). He thanked me and my colleagues for all our hard work on the frontlines during this pandemic,” Delaney wrote.

“And I was finally able to thank him for all the inspiration and strength he’s given me over the years. He also gave me some excellent advice on how to be positive and kind during tough times, which I think can apply to all of us these days. Thank you Steph for spreading your joy and boosting our morale! And thank you Mercury News for helping us get connected! Go Dubs! #StrengthInNumbers #ICanDoAllThings”

With the NBA suspended as the world battles the coronavirus, Curry is doing his part to help in every way he can. Aside from providing helpful information and spreading awareness about the coronavirus, the Warriors superstar has also moved to help in coronavirus relief efforts.

Last month, Curry and his wife Ayesha announced their donation to help feed underprivileged kids in Oakland amid the ongoing crisis. They also continue to ask for help in order to help others who are struggling in these challenging times.
