Golden State Warriors center DeMarcus Cousins has been eager to show his progress after suffering a season-ending left Achilles injury. By the looks of his recovery sessions, which he's documenting for Showtime Sports, it seems like the big man has made much more progress than expected.

In the latest clip, Cousins is seen dunking for the first time post-surgery off his left foot:

While dunking doesn't seem like such a great feat for a 6-foot-11 center, the sheer torque and the 270 pounds that he has to carry on that lone foot to get up above the rim is no small task.

Cousins' dunk might not have been a thunderous slam, but it's surely a step in the right direction, now knowing he can explode with a little bit of confidence without the fear of re-injuring himself.

Boogie was encouraged by his trainer, who said he had made more progress in the month of August than any other month, while Cousins noted there still is “a long way to go.”

The All-Star center is expected to rejoin the team in late December to January, the usual timetable for such an injury.

While the Warriors will await his return, they surely won't rush him back or need him at All-Star form by then. Instead, they will be looking to gradually allow him to mesh with his teammates and make the most of his season before the impending playoff run.
