Monday's edition of RAW was a certified love-fest for one of the best WWE Superstars of all time, John Cena.

It had a little bit of everything; advice segments with current roster members, video packages from former foes – including a few who now work for AEW – and an in-ring promo from the man of the hour which ended with “The Champ” making his way through the building while slowly but steadily striping the vestiges of his in-ring character and throwing the pieces of clothing into the crowd to the fans who held him down along the way.

But Cena's appreciation for the fans who got him where he's today wasn't exhausted on the fans assembled in Laredo, Texas. No, Cena took to Twitter to deliver a heartfelt thank you to the fans who have never turned their backs on him, and even to the ones who would boo him for not quite listing up to their expectations.

You have to give it to Cena, for all of the in-ring faux pas that some have leveled against him over the years, from burring the Nexus to his lack of a proper heel turn, one can never accuse him of phoning things in; unless, of course, it's a Make A Wish kid on the call, as he has been more active with the charity than any other celebrity in the history of the charity.

Understandably, this left more than a few fans in their feelings not only because of what is in Cena's immediate future, which, by his own admission, won't feature much wrestling but because of just how much he's meant to so many people over the past two decades. Even if he never wrestles another meaningful match again, that will live on forever.
