After John Cena announced he'd be making his return to the WWE at the end of June for the 20th anniversary of his wrestling debut, the world-renowned superstar went on to lift the spirits of one superfan. A Ukraine refugee, who had his home destroyed in the nation's ongoing conflict with Russia, was able to meet Cena after fleeing from his home country. The refugee, who is named Misha, considers Cena to be his hero. As he and his mother were fleeing Ukraine, his mother encouraged him along their journey by telling Misha they were going to meet Cena. Lo and behold, her promise to Misha came true in what was a touching moment between the WWE superstar and the die-hard fan.

Misha was decked out head to toe in Cena WWE gear, and Cena paid him a surprise visit in Amsterdam after he and his family had safely escaped Ukraine. The emotional moment was documented on camera and the family was overwhelmed that Cena had come out to spend the afternoon with them.

Cena and his new friend Misha enjoyed an afternoon of eating cake and building blocks, as Cena described it, and you could see just how important the moment was for the entire family. The celebrity also hooked Misha up with some WWE merchandise, including a title belt.

Cena said he was inspired by the story of Misha and his mother, as well as the rest of their family. Cena said he was only an hour's flight away from Amsterdam, so upon hearing the story, he quickly worked out the details on how to make Misha's mother's promise a reality.
