Texas Rangers slugger Joey Gallo is hearing his name more and more as the MLB trade deadline gets closer, and hopefully for him, he didn't catch former New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez talk about him during Sunday's broadcast of the series finale between the Boston Red Sox and the Bronx Bombers.

Asked about his thoughts of a potential Joey Gallo trade to the Yankees, Rodriguez did not make any effort at all to hide his true feelings about the idea.

A-Rod says Joey Gallo is a bad fit for the Yankees “I don't want to see anymore swing and miss. I want contact guys… Where are you gonna play him?”

To be fair, Rodriguez said that he loves Gallo as a player, but he just doesn't the player being a good fit for the Yankees, who already have big bats in the pair of Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton.  Obviously, A-Rod wants to see the Yankees get a player that can get consistently on base while batting in front of Judge and Stanton.

A-Rod says José Ramirez, Christian Yelich and Ramon Laureano are the type of players that the Yankees should be targeting. Personally we'd love it if the Yankees acquired Trout and Ohtani in some sort of two-for-two package

As of this writing, the Yankees are 28th in the majors in RBIs and ninth in OBP, though two of their top three OBP guys are Judge and Stanton.
