Giancarlo Stanton was once again a standout performer for the New York Yankees against the Boston Red Sox. The veteran slugger recorded a two-run home run in the Yankees’ 4-2 win over their AL East rival in the second game of the series.

Stanton posted an exit velocity of 112.0 mph on the 437-foot home run in the sixth inning of the contest, as Red Sox pitcher Nick Pivetta did not fool him at all with a slider inside.

Overall, Stanton has now homered in six straight games against the Red Sox, which is a new team record.

The previous holder of this notable record in Yankees franchise history was Mickey Mantle, who notched at least one home run in five consecutive such contests back in the 1954 season.

Stanton’s active home run streak against the Red Sox dates back to the Yankees’ three-game road series with the AL East powerhouse in September of the 2021 regular season. He then went on to record a home run in the 2021 AL Wild-Card Game, although the Red Sox were victorious in the end.

For a franchise that has bolstered clutch hitters from the likes of Mantle to Derek Jeter, it sure is quite impressive for Stanton to be the new holder of this record. He will have the opportunity to make it seven consecutive games with a home run against the Red Sox in the series finale on Sunday.
