New York Yankees lefty Nestor Cortes is heading to the 2022 MLB All-Star Game and he plans to have some fun on the mound once Tuesday night rolls around.

Cortes is known for his funky antics when pitching and he'll be looking to give the fans a show. When asked if he'll have any tricks up his sleeve, the southpaw teased the idea.

Via NJ.com:

“Yeah, I might,” he said before Sunday’s 13-2 win over the Red Sox at Yankee Stadium. “I’ve thought about it. I’m probably going to go completely rogue on that.

‘You’ll probably see some cool stuff out there.”

Nestor Cortes has toyed with hitters on numerous occasions and even made Shohei Ohtani laugh while in the batter's box. He's a fun guy when on the bump but he revealed that it's never even a plan to do that stuff, it just comes to his mind at the moment:

“No, everything is brand new every time I bring it out,” he said. “But we’ll see what comes up when I’m midway through my windup.”

Cortes is in the midst of a tremendous season, going 7-3 with a 2.53 ERA in 17 starts, serving as the Yankees' best starter in 2022. It's been a pleasant surprise for baseball's top team and making the All-Star Game is just the icing on the cake for Cortes, but it will essentially just be another outing for him:

“Obviously it’s going to be special,” he said, “but I don’t think it’s going to be anything different than we’re doing right now. I think being in the big leagues is special overall. The All-Star Game is just celebrating what I’m doing now. I don’t know if I’ll do anything different when I’m out there.”

Needless to say, Nestor Cortes is going to have some fun at Dodger Stadium.
