It's been a messy offseason for the Atlanta Falcons so far as the roster has nearly diminished. Regardless, they have a chance to get back on track and create a team to build upon. Atlanta needs more than just two moves to improve the roster, so for now, we'll focus on the two areas the front office should focus on in the NFL Draft.

The wide receiver room is barely existent and it's time the Falcons find some help. They whiffed on acquiring any of the top talent in free agency, so we should see the front office bring in an exciting prospect through the draft. If they can manage that, then the offense won't be in such a dire situation.

Additionally, the Falcons have a chance to stack up the defensive side of the ball. With AJ Terrell leading the way in the secondary, Atlanta would be wise to focus on the defensive line. If they can find a game-changer to play within the front seven, then this team will have a nice starting point for a rebuild.

With that said, here are two moves the Falcons must make to complete their roster in the 2022 NFL offseason.

Falcons Offseason Roster Moves

2. Find a competent wide receiver in the NFL Draft

Calvin Ridley is suspended for the next season while Russell Gage signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. As of right now, the Falcons don't have a true starting receiver on the roster. For that reason, we should see Atlanta select at least one wide receiver in the NFL Draft. If they don't this offense is going to suffer the consequences.

At least Kyle Pitts and Cordarrelle Patterson are on the team, but outside of them, the Falcons are in dire need of pass catchers. It wouldn't be shocking to see the front office draft multiple receivers in the draft. Especially after the franchise missed out on signing any of the exciting free agents in the offseason.

Luckily for the Falcons, this year's draft class is stacked with some serious talent. With the eighth pick overall, Atlanta has a chance to take the top receiver off the board. If the front office can reel in Garrett Wilson, Drake London, or Treylon Burks, then fans should feel more comfortable about the current roster.

1. Improve the defensive line

AJ Terrell is a lockdown cornerback and he needs help if the Falcons hope to improve defensively. For that reason, we should see Atlanta bring in a pass rusher in the NFL Draft. They could still sign a decent defensive lineman or two in free agency, but the front office would be wise to acquire a young stud.

This year's class is absolutely loaded with talent on the defensive line. After taking a wide receiver in the first round, a smart move would be to prioritize drafting an edge rusher in either round two or three. If they can do that, then the Falcons will put themselves in a solid position to improve on defense next season.

There are a ton of holes on this roster right now, which means we could see the Falcons go in a completely opposite direction. Regardless, any picks they make will be a good one, as Atlanta hopes to create a sturdy base to continue building the roster.
