Week 14 Waiver Wire Pickups

10. Amon-Ra St. Brown – WR
Detroit Lions
6.5% Rostered

Seeking out any members of the now one-win Detroit Lions certainly should scare you, but Amon-Ra St. Brown could offer some unexpected value catching balls from Jared Goff.

Setting season highs in receptions (10), yardage (86), and targets (12), St. Brown finally showcased his skills in the DET offense, including catching the game-winning TD from Goff with no time on the clock. With the Lions facing the Broncos and Cardinals next, they will be passing a lot, meaning St. Brown could have a WR3/4 ceiling upcoming.

9. Ricky Seals-Jones – TE
Washington Football Team
6.3% Rostered

When Logan Thomas missed time earlier this year, Ricky Seals-Jones filled in admirably and became a solid safety valve for Taylor Heinicke – and with Thomas slated to miss time again, Seals-Jones will need to overcome his own injury to get back into that role.

Having missed three consecutive games with a hip injury, Seals-Jones would be a solid plug-in option for teams needing an injury replacement at tight end – if Seals-Jones cannot go, then rookie John Bates could become a deep sleeper option for Washington in Week 14 for your waiver wire pickups.

8. Laviska Shenault – WR
Jacksonville Jaguars
45.5% Rostered

Deemed one of the fantasy football darlings this past offseason, the Jacksonville Jaguars have ruined any sort of high-upside ceiling that Laviska Shenault had entering this year. But with injuries to Jamal Agnew and DJ Chark, Shenault has vaulted back into a semi-relevant fantasy football role.

Sunday’s disaster of a game against the Rams saw Shenault earn five-plus targets for the fourth consecutive game, even with a season-low snap percentage. While the Jaguars are tough to trust for fantasy football, Shenault could offer upside in an offense looking for any sort of talent.

7. Tyler Conklin – TE
Minnesota Vikings
34.2% Rostered

Somehow, Tyler Conklin is TE15 on the year so far, even with Dalvin Cook, Justin Jefferson, and Adam Thielen taking up targets. Sunday’s loss to the Lions saw Conklin tie his season-high reception output (7), set a new season-high in targets (9), and put up his fourth 50-plus receiving yardage game of the season.

With the recent injury to Thielen, Conklin gets bumped up the ladder and should see an uptick in usage and routes run while Thielen misses time, making him the best TE on your waiver wire pickups this week.

6. Rashaad Penny – RB
Seattle Seahawks
1.7% Rostered

No one really is all that worthwhile from the Seattle Seahawks’ backfield, especially after the addition of Adrian Peterson. But Rashaad Penny was more efficient than AP on fewer touches, and he (obviously) looked to be the fresher of the two.

Penny has long been the bridesmaid to the wedding but never the bride for Seattle, but injuries may have finally opened the door for him to show out in a starter’s role. Seattle gets the Texans in Week 14 and could become a nice RB3 option to help fill in for the few remaining players on bye.

5. K.J. Osborn – WR
Minnesota Vikings
4.1% Rostered

As was mentioned with Conklin, the Vikings’ offense is in need of other players to step up in lieu of Thielen, which is where K.J. Osborn comes in.

Acting as the WR3 in this offense this year, Osborn has had a coming-out party of sorts in this offense, earning six-plus targets on five separate occasions this year. Osborn scored his third TD of the year against Detroit and can be an injury option in your waiver wire pickups, especially with the Steelers and Bears coming up for Minnesota.

4. Kendrick Bourne – WR
New England Patriots
33.9% Rostered

Throw the MNF game out the window for anyone on the Patriots and Bills – the weather made that game impossible to utilize a regular game plan in. But Kendrick Bourne has become one of Mac Jones’ most trusted targets, earning four or more targets in six of the past seven weeks.

The New England offense is reliant on a short-to-medium passing attack, which helps maximize Bourne’s skillset running underneath routes and routes that are suited for Jones’ arm strength. As the Patriots continue to make more noise than expected, look for Bourne to continue his WR2/3 output this year, after the Week 14 bye.

3. Russell Gage – WR
Atlanta Falcons
25.2% Rostered

Russell Gage is the best pass-catcher on the Atlanta roster not named Kyle Pitts, and over the past few weeks, he certainly has been playing like it.

RECOMMENDED (Article Continues Below)

As Calvin Ridley continues to work on his mental health and miss games (his top priority above football), Gage has earned six-plus targets in all but two of his eight games, including a season-high 12 against the Buccaneers.

11 catches for 130 years is a huge day for Gage, and with the Niners, Panthers, and Lions up next, he certainly can help you make your fantasy football playoffs.

2. Taysom Hill – QB
New Orleans Saints
35.9% Rostered

The lone QB on this list also moonlights as a tight end, running back, and former punt blocker – it's Taysom Hill.

Even after his injury against the Cowboys, Hill was able to overcome his four interceptions to throw for two TDs and run for over 100 yards, making for a rollercoaster day of fantasy football. Hill’s mallet finger injury, the same as what Russell Wilson suffered, is deemed to be ‘not as severe’ as what Wilson had, meaning that he is going to try and play through it.

As long as Hill remains semi-healthy and is the Saints’ starting QB, he should be on your roster. His dual-threat abilities on the ground and through the air make him a valuable player down the stretch, and with the Saints facing the Jets, Buccaneers, and Dolphins the next three weeks, he does bring some potential QB1 value.

1. D’Onta Foreman / Dontrell Hilliard – RB
Tennessee Titans
34.2% & 35.9% Rostered

Frequent visitors to the top spot on this list, both D’Onta Foreman and Dontrell Hilliard got to experience byes this week, but both are still locked in and ready to help lead the rushing attack for the Tennessee Titans.

The Jaguars, Steelers, and Niners represent the next three opponents for the Titans, three opponents that certainly can be efficiently attacked on the ground, making both of these players solid adds this week via your waiver wire pickups.

If only able to choose one, Foreman would be the better bet (but not by much), as a good chunk of Hilliard’s production has come on chunk plays. Week 14’s contest against Jacksonville will help flesh out the pecking order between the two, which can help you determine which option you should target.
