We are just about at the midway point of the NFL season! The quarterback position continues to see great fantasy football numbers through Week 8. It's time to continue our fantasy football series with a breakdown on the quarterback position.

Quarterbacks are the easiest position to worry about in fantasy football. Most tend to play the same throughout an entire season and the points are never towering unless multiple TDs are thrown. We are seeing the same QBs at the top of the leaderboards each week, so unless you have a top 10 fantasy QB then you should pay attention. This week, some of the top projected quarterbacks are facing defenses that are good against the pass. With that being said, let's take a look at who you should consider starting and who should sit in Week 9.

Fantasy Football Week 9 Start ‘Em

Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers

Justin Herbert might have played the worst game of his entire life against the Patriots in Week 8. His previous worst was also against the Patriots last year in his rookie season. The good news is that he's pretty much dominated every other opponent. Herbert has the weapons to make big plays. This past week he still threw for two touchdowns but missed a ton of throws. That is rare so far in his short career. Herbert should bounce back and get back into his rhythm this week on the road.

Herbert and the Chargers travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles who are 7th against the pass. The Eagles are doing a great job of containing the QB position so far this year. Darius Slay is leading the charge in the secondary and should be a nightmare for Herbert this week. I still expect Herbert to play well and throw for multiple touchdowns. He'll need to focus on the turnovers and if he limits those then he should feel comfortable again.

Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals

Burrow is quickly becoming one of the better QBs in the league. He had his third straight 3-TD game against the Jets this past week. The Bengals slipped up in the end forcing the Jets to come back and win. His late turnover was costly but the rest of the game he dominated. His connection with Jamar Chase is incredible.

He faces a favorable matchup this weekend against the Cleveland Browns. The Browns defense is nowhere near where we all thought it would, and they rank 27th against the pass. Burrow should continue his great play.

Mike White, New York Jets

Mike White came out of left field for the Jets last week. He threw for 405 yards and three touchdowns in the win over the Bengals. White faced a really good defense and led a comeback for the win late in the game. He finished with 26 fantasy points and does have a favorable matchup this Thursday night.

The Indianapolis Colts ranked 23rd against the pass, allowing White to possibly repeat his performance. Of course, if you are in a serious league it's a bit risky starting him, especially on a short week. However, the Colts give up a ton of points and White doesn't have much film on him for them to study. White could very well score over 20 fantasy points this week. If your QB is on a bye or injured, consider White this week.

Fantasy Quarterbacks Sit ‘Em

Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles

Hurts is a rising star and is playing like a pro-bowler this season. He might have his toughest test this season this week against the LA Chargers. The Chargers rank 4th against the pass and have pretty much shut down every QB this year. The Bolts secondary is banged up but the depth is playing well also. This isn't a favorable matchup for Hurts.

Hurts played his worst game of the season last week against the Lions. He actually didn't play all that bad but finished with only 11 fantasy points per ESPN. They destroyed the Lions and so he didn't need to do much. He ended with just 103 yards passing and 71 rush yards. I wouldn't expect him to play much better against a better secondary than the Lions.

Ryan Tannehill, Tennessee Titans

Tannehill will face the LA Rams this weekend who are ranked 9th against opposing QBs. Derrick Henry is out for a long time with an injury so he will need to step up big time. There will be more weight added to Tannehill's shoulders and it's tough to tell if he will deliver. I would bench him for this week against the Rams.

Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings

Cousins is playing well this season for fantasy football. He did not against the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday night, however. He threw for just 184 yards and one TD against what was supposed to be a favorable matchup. He faces the Baltimore Ravens fresh off a bye week. I would not consider starting him unless you have to.
