Since the year 2000, the New England Patriots have basically been considered the best team in the NFL. That isn't any different this year as Tom Brady and Bill Belichick are in their 20th season together and are going strong.

With three games being completed, the Patriots have won all three in convincing fashion. The Patriots sent a message in Week 1 by blowing out the Pittsburgh Steelers 33-3 on Sunday Night Football.

Then, in the following two games, New England has carried their momentum on both sides of the ball. Altogether, Brady and the Patriots have outscored their opponents 106-17 this season.

There may not seem to be anything getting in the way of the Patriots from unveiling their seventh Super Bowl banner after this season. However, there are a few burning questions that need to be asked surrounding the Patriots entering Week 4.

3. Can the Defense Hold Up?

The Patriots are undefeated to begin the season but the most impressive aspect of their team is their elite defense. Through three weeks, New England has only given up 17 points and only three of those points were scored on their defense.

Furthermore, the Patriots haven't allowed an offensive touchdown since last year's AFC Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Yes, the Patriots haven't played any formidable offenses this season but they still have exuded their dominance.

But can the defense maintain their commanding defense for an entire season? Bill Belichick has had talented defenses over the years but this may be his best group yet. Only time will tell if they are able to keep their momentum going on defense.

2. Can the Patriots Survive the Injuries on the Offensive Line?

Amid their 3-0 record, it has gone overlooked that the Patriots have done so with multiple injuries on their offensive line. First, it started with David Andrews being placed on season-ending injured reserve due to having blood clots in his lungs.

Following their Week 1 win over the Steelers, Marcus Cannon has missed the past two games with a shoulder injury. Cannon has a decent chance to play in Week 4, but Isaiah Wynn was placed on injured reserve after Week 2.

As good as the Patriots have been, can they survive all of the injuries that have occurred on their offensive line? Even with the injuries, New England has only allowed four sacks this season. If there is anyone who can help overcome injuries, it's offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia.

1. What Is Going on With Sony Michel?

The Patriots have appeared to be nearly unstoppable on both sides of the ball—except for their running game. Currently, with three games being played, Sony Michel has failed to get anything going with 108 yards on just 2.4 yards per rushing attempt and two touchdowns.

That begs the question, what is going on with Michel this season? The second-year running back was impressive in his rookie campaign in 2018 but has looked stagnant in his sophomore season.

Fortunately for the Patriots, they have a bevy of running backs who are utilized in their offense. Still, New England is going to want to get Michel going as the season progresses.
