It's hard to end a season in a worse way than the Indianapolis Colts did in 2021. All they needed to do was beat the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars to make the playoffs, but they choked away an easily winnable game. This offseason is a huge opportunity to turn the Colts into a team that will never lose that type of game again. General manager Chris Ballard is one of the best in the NFL, and he has plenty of cap space at his disposal. This won't be a quiet offseason in any way for a Colts team that should be looking for a little bit of revenge in 2022.

Here are the three moves the Colts must make during the 2022 NFL offseason.

3 Moves the Colts Must Make This Offseason

3. Keep The Offensive Line Together

The offensive front has been a strength for the Colts for years now, and they should try to keep it that way. Left tackle Eric Fisher and right guard Mark Glowinski are both set to hit the open market this offseason, so Indianapolis needs to find a way to extend both players. Fisher wasn't great last season, but he provided somewhat consistent play at a key position. There aren't really any free-agent tackles that look like an upgrade over him. Retaining Fisher would ensure consistently decent play on the blind side, which is more than the Colts will get from any free agent or draft pick.

Glowinski is another solid, if unspectacular player. He's great in the run game and good enough in pass protection. Unless Indianapolis wants to shell out big money for Brandon Scherff, it's going to be hard to find anyone better than Glowinski. There are other parts of this roster that need work, so there's absolutely no reason the Colts should be going after a big-money guard like Scherff. Keeping Glowinski around gives Indianapolis a good contributor at what should be a relatively cheap price.

2. Go After Allen Robinson

If there's one thing the Colts are sorely missing, it's a top-tier receiver. Despite his poor 2021 season, Allen Robinson is exactly that. The Penn State product had more than 1,100 yards receiving in both 2019 and 2020 to go along with five touchdowns in each season. All of those statistics were accumulated despite mediocre-at-best quarterback play. Pairing Robinson with an underrated quarterback in Carson Wentz would give this Colts offense a new dimension.

It's been a few years since T.Y. Hilton was considered an elite receiver. Michael Pittman Jr. is a solid player, but he isn't the top-flight talent that offenses covet. Pittman and Robinson together would give plenty of problems to opposing defenses. Carson Wentz hasn't had a truly good receiving corps throughout his entire career, and pairing those two players would give him actual weapons to go along with an elite running game.

1. Sign Quandre Diggs

While the Colts already have a strong defense, the addition of Quandre Diggs would only make things better. Diggs isn't the best free-agent safety on the market, but there are a couple reasons to pursue him over Tyrann Mathieu or Devin McCourty. The former Texas Longhorn is younger and cheaper than the other top-tier safeties available despite being only a slight downgrade in talent. He's also an extremely versatile player, as shown by his 94 tackles, five interceptions, and three run stuffs. That versatility should play well in one of the most dynamic defenses in the league in Indianapolis.
