The Twitter account of Magic Johnson has been a topic of conversation among other media personnel and fans because of the way his tweets are constructed. The formality and sentences have perfect spelling and punctuation, which is unconventional in social media. However, Johnson's recent tweet that went viral was after their embarrassing loss to the Denver Nuggets last Saturday night.

“After being blown out by the Nuggets 133-96, we as @Lakers fans can accept being outplayed but we deserve more than a lack of effort and no sense of urgency. Owner @JeanieBuss, you deserve better.”

There have been analysts and reporters that have expressed their own opinion on Johnson's comments, but the obvious aspect was his harsh criticism and honest take on his beloved Lakers franchise. It may not be Johnson articulating any of his tweets, as he reportedly has someone follow him and tweet his thoughts. But these ideas are still his opinions about the news circulating in the sports world.

Here are three reasons why Johnson's tweets about the Lakers could be good for Los Angeles.

Magic's track record to backup his tweets

If any ex-Lakers player tweets about the current performance of the squad, the impact would not the same. As the best point guard in NBA history and being a former leader in their front office, Johnson's statements are taken seriously.

His sentiments are not just deemed useless because he is close to Jeanie Buss and GM Rob Pelinka. I acknowledge that he has underperformed as a President of the Lakers. But Johnson still has tremendous brilliance and knowledge in handling front office moves. For example, the ability to recruit big names to Los Angeles. He could be frank with his thoughts, but his objectives are solely to enhance the performance from the team.

Courage is lacking within the organization

Compared to the playing days of Johnson, players today are so much more sensitive to the opinions of others. There are athletes that continually get affected by criticism and constant cuss words, particularly on social media. This team needs individuals willing to be brutally honest with their mistakes and issues.

Newly-acquired star Russell Westbrook and head coach Frank Vogel are being treated as scapegoats in L.A. They should not be the fall guys for the current situation. The difficulties being encountered by this squad stems from the atrocious construction of their roster.

Vogel is a defensive-minded coach. Yet, Pelinka added aging veterans who are subpar on that end of the floor. With the chaos ensuing in the locker room, Johnson is one of the few people who speaks candidly.

It could change the tide of their season

Johnson's voice resonates with every person in the organization. His constant comments could be the motivation and inspiration necessary to catapult the Lakers to championship contention once again. Anthony Davis is due to return sometime during their six-game road trip. Kendrick Nunn would then be the only player missing for them to finally have a complete lineup.

LeBron James-led teams are known to maneuver their lineup before the trade and buyout deadline. The hope is for them to add versatile and defensive stalwarts to their roster. Their athleticism, effort, and focus is lacking on a consistent basis. Davis' return could be the answer for them to be a force.

Their calling card in their 2020 NBA Championship run was their defensive prowess and tremendous intelligence. They need to get back to that.

There are 37 games left to wrap up their regular season. The Lakers could still raise their level of play and reach the top six seed at the very least. This upcoming six-game east coast road trip could swing the momentum in their favor. It could also be the last straw, leading to the firing of Vogel.

The challenges continue to becoming enormous for the organization as the season progresses, but the expectations do not change for the Lakers fans. It is always a championship-or-bust season and L.A. is still far from that upper echelon of the association.
