San Francisco 49ers fans are hoping quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is able to suit up on Saturday when the Niners travel to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers. Garoppolo sustained a shoulder injury against the Cowboys, in addition to the other ailments already weighing on the Niners' QB. Well, there has been a lot of question regarding Garoppolo's status for Saturday's Divisional Round bout, but footage from him at practice today should have Niners fans feeling encouraged. 49ers reporter Cam Inman shared a video of Garoppolo throwing darts at practice on Wednesday, and Inman even suggested he had “no doubt” that Jimmy G. would play this weekend.

That's the exact update 49ers fans were likely looking for on Wednesday. While Kyle Shanahan nor Garoppolo confirmed that the 30-year-old would be available on Sunday, it certainly seems, based on the practice footage, that he's trending in the right direction.

Of course, if Garoppolo does end up being ruled out for the Divisional Round, the honus will be on rookie Trey Lance to try to earn a win in his first-ever playoff start. He'd face a tall task in doing so up against a formidable Packers team that earned the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

While fans had spent much of the season clamoring for Lance to get a shot as the team's starting quarterback, we expect those same fans would feel a lot better with Garoppolo under center on Saturday, as opposed to the unproven rookie.

For now, fans will have to wait for further update on Garoppolo's availability, but based on the footage from Wednesday's practice, there's a growing sense of optimism that the 30-year-old will be able to take the field.
