San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Marquise Goodwin scored a 38-yard uncovered touchdown in the team's opening drive against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

In what must have been a blown coverage by the Bengals' secondary, the 28-year-old wideout saw himself standing unperturbed by any defensive back for the easy reception via 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

Goodwin hauled in the catch and practically strolled into the end zone, with the Niners up early in the first quarter in away territory.

The seventh-year wideout Goodwin joined the 49ers in 2017 after a four-year tenure with the Buffalo Bills. Goodwin was selected in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Bills, where he recorded only 49 receptions for 780 yards and six touchdowns in 39 games and 10 starts.

Goodwin had an unremarkable 2018 season with the Bay Area franchise, only appearing in 11 games and tallying 23 receptions for 395 yards and four touchdowns after signing a three-year contract extension with the 49ers in the offseason.

His first season with the 49ers, however, would be Goodwin's best thus far: 56 receptions for 962 yards and two touchdowns.

Goodwin and the San Francisco offense is still adjusting to the return of Garoppolo, who missed nearly all of the 2018 regular season after tearing his ACL in the team's third tilt.

Garoppolo, the former New England Patriots backup signal-caller, looked rusty Week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but nevertheless led the 49ers to the first win of the 2019 season.
