The San Francisco 49ers have been shorthanded on offense in recent weeks, but it seems as if they'll get some of their starters back in Week 5. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Raheem Mostert is set to return alongside Jimmy Garoppolo on Sunday versus the Miami Dolphins.

Mostert has missed the past two weeks for the 49ers after suffering a knee injury during San Francisco's Week 2 win over the New York Jets. Luckily for the 49ers, Mostert's knee ailment was an MCL sprain and not something that would sideline him for the rest of the season.

Prior to his injury, Mostert carried the ball 23 times for 148 yards and a touchdown. He would also catch six passes for 110 yards and another score as a receiving threat in the offense.

Even though Kyle Shanahan tends to divvy up the touches between multiple running backs, Mostert is the team's best one. However, even with Mostert returning, Jerick McKinnon will likely continue to have a role in the backfield.

While Mostert was sidelined for two weeks, McKinnon contributed 174 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns. McKinnon's ability as a receiver should be enough for him to remain an option for the 49ers.

Besides Mostert, Deebo Samuel is also expected to suit up for San Francisco on Sunday. Samuel has been dealing with an illness that isn't COVID-19 related throughout the week.

Early in the season, the 49ers have dealt with a plethora of injuries to some of their key members of the roster. At the least, along with Garoppolo, San Francisco's offense will now have Mostert back in the fold.
