The San Francisco 49ers already have a long list of wide receivers on their injury report and they added another name to the list on Sunday. According to ESPN's Field Yates, rookie Brandon Aiyuk left practice on Sunday with an apparent hamstring issue.

Earlier this offseason, Deebo Samuel sustained a Jones fracture to his foot and underwent surgery. While the 49ers are optimistic for him to return in 2020, Samuel is expected to miss games to begin the season.

Besides Samuel, Richie James suffered a wrist injury while working out with the team during the offseason. Similar to Samuel, he'll miss the start of the season, and is expected to begin the year on the non-football injury list.

Lastly, Jalen Hurd, who was projected to take massive strides forward in his second season, tore his ACL early in training camp this year. Hurd will miss the entire 2020 season and is hoping to come back even stronger in 2021.

Now, after all of the injuries they've already experienced, Aiyuk is now making an appearance on the injury report. However, unlike the others, it is uncertain what the severity of his injury is.

Due to the injury bug hitting their wide receiver room, the 49ers recently signed a bevy of wide receivers. Altogether, they inked deals with Tavon Austin, J.J. Nelson, and Jaron Brown. All of them are likely going to see an increase in reps in training camp.

After selecting him with the No. 25 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, San Francisco has plans to utilize Aiyuk in a variety of ways in 2020. First and foremost though, the 49ers are hoping that Aiyuk can get healthy before Week 1 when the team squares off against the Arizona Cardinals.
