The San Francisco 49ers got their starting running back Tevin Coleman back on the field on Thursday. Per the official injury report, the back practiced in a limited fashion as he's coming back from a high-ankle sprain injury suffered Week 1.

In addition, defensive end Dee Ford (quadricep), left tackle Joe Staley (fibula) and cornerback Ahkello Weatherspoon (foot) did not practice on Thursday.

Though Coleman practiced in a limited fashion, coach Kyle Shanahan stated that he's “100- and ready to go,” according to Keiana Martin of the team's official website.

If Coleman stays healthy, he should be ready to play against the Cleveland Browns on “Monday Night Football.” However, Shanahan noted that another consideration would be the turnaround to face the Los Angeles Rams six days later at The Colisseum.

As Shanahan says, via Cam Inman of the Mercury News:

If Tevin’s 100-percent and good to do, he’s a guy we would never keep out.”

The 49ers signed Coleman to a two-year deal worth $10 million in free agency. Previously, he played under Shanahan for the Atlanta Falcons.

San Francisco will likely use Coleman's services on Monday, but don't expect him to be a lead-back in their offense. The 49ers boast an impressive trio of backs in Coleman, Matt Breida and Raheem Mostert, who all boast ideal the skill set to thrive in Shanahan's outside zone scheme; Breida and Mostert have.

In his one game of 2019 thus far, Coleman ran for 23 yards on six carries and added in two receptions (three targets) for 33 yards.
