New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady enjoyed his time with former teammate Jimmy Garoppolo.

In a recent interview with Westwood One Sports, Brady expressed that he enjoyed his time as teammates with Garoppolo back when they were on the Patriots.

Garoppolo was drafted in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Patriots. He spent the first three years of his NFL career as Brady's backup on the Patriots before he became the San Francisco 49ers franchise quarterback.

Garoppolo was set to hit free agency in 2018 and felt like he could be a starting quarterback with a different franchise. So the Patriots decided to trade him instead of just letting him walk in free agency.

They traded Garoppolo to the 49ers in exchange for a 2018 second-round draft. He led the 49ers to five straight wins at the end of 2017 season before suffering an ACL injury. The ACL injured would prematurely end his season. The 49ers decided to extend Garoppolo's contract to a five-year, $137.5 million deal. At the time of the signing, it was the biggest contract in NFL history.

Garoppolo has been playing phenomenal this season as he helped the 49ers achieve their first winning season and playoff berth since 2013. He led the 49ers to secure the first seed of the NFC and earn a first-round bye. Garappolo will be playing in his first official playoff game today as a starting quarterback. The 49ers are seeking to win their first playoff game since 2013 as they host the Minnesota Vikings.
