Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown reportedly has grown so unhappy with the team to the point that he’s requested for a trade. Of course, this being the social media age, news spread online like wildfire that Brown has indeed expressed his desire to get shipped into another team and word has reached the doorstep of San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle, who appeared to subtly recruit the disgruntled wideout.

It didn’t take Brown much time to respond to Kittle’s tweet, as he responded with a starry-eyed emoji, which should only add to speculations and spur hope in the Bay Area that the seven-time Pro Bowler will soon become a 49er.

Reports have surfaced recently that Antonio Brown has had another run-in with Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger recently, which resulted to his benching in a crucial Week 17 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals. The Steelers needed to win that game in order to keep their hopes alive of making it to the playoffs, though, that didn’t matter in the end, as the Baltimore Ravens took down the Cleveland Browns last Sunday to end Pittsburgh’s Super Bowl 53 hopes.

Although Brown hasn’t specified a trade destination –he reportedly said he just wants to get moved –, his brief exchange with George Kittle showed that he’s open to the idea of getting traded to San Francisco, a team with a rich history like the Steelers but hasn’t won a Super Bowl in over two decades.

In any case, the offseason for Brown and the Steelers is going to be very interesting.
