The wide receiver position is always pretty deep when it comes to fantasy football as the sheer volume of these players majorly outweighs that of quarterbacks, running backs and tight ends. However, there also leaves a lot more room for unexpected players to break out while some other more notable players are unable to perform up to par and turn into busts.

The question then becomes, though, which players will do what come 2020?

There will be more than a few wide outs that are selected pretty high as the result of many fantasy drafts over the course of the next few weeks. There is no doubt about that. Unfortunately for some owners, though, there will be quite a few of these players that underachieve in a big way. While such underachievement can be due to a variety of different reasons, the fact that it will inevitably happen is simply unavoidable.

5. Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

While this entrant onto this fantasy football list should hardly be considered to be a potential bust, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin just simply won't be able to keep up with his output from a season ago. Because of former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady coming to town in addition to the fact that the Buccaneers have a lot more weapons than they did a season ago, Godwin just won't be able to receive as many targets as the football will surely be passed around quite a bit in Tampa Bay in 2020.

Not only will Godwin be forced to compete with Mike Evans, Rob Gronkowski, Ronald Jones II, LeSean McCoy and others, but the league is also very aware of how good he is after he put his entire skill set on full display last season.

4. Robby Anderson, Carolina Panthers

Going from the New York Jets to the Carolina Panthers, wide receiver Robby Anderson is looking to make the transition from one team to another during the most unique offseason in the history of the NFL. Due to the fact that Anderson will be suiting up for the Panthers following an abbreviated offseason and absolutely no preseason, it would be tough to bet on the former Jets standout in 2020.

With Curtis Samuel, D.J. Moore and Christian McCaffrey all at new Panthers quarterback Teddy Bridgewater's disposal as well, it will be interesting to see just how many targets Anderson receives this season.

3. Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos

It is abundantly clear that the Denver Broncos are going with a committee-based approach in 2020. In addition to signing former Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon to add to the backfield alongside Phillip Lindsay, the Broncos also drafted not one but two rookie wideouts this past spring as veteran wide receiver Courtland Sutton will no doubt suffer as a result of this team improving greatly.

While the Broncos will be much better for these moves, Sutton will just receive more attention along the outside while also receiving fewer targets as up-and-coming quarterback Drew Lock will surely have options in every direction.

2. Adam Thielen, Minnesota Vikings

With fellow wide receiver Stefon Diggs now officially a member of the Buffalo Bills, Adam Thielen will be receiving a lot more attention moving forward—both from the Minnesota Vikings and opposing defenses.

Although the Vikings managed to fill the void left by Diggs with the tandem of rookie wide receiver Justin Jefferson and former Tennessee Titans wide receiver Tajae Sharpe, Thielen will be far and away the best pass-catcher on his team for the first time in his career. With Thielen and Diggs serving as one of the better one-two punches in the entire NFL for the last several seasons, it remains to be seen what happens when the former is left all alone as a legitimate veteran threat along the outside for quarterback Kirk Cousins.

1. JuJu Smith-Schuster, Pittsburgh Steelers

The key to the Pittsburgh Steelers success in 2020? The health and production of veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who missed the majority of last season due to injury. With No. 1 wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster also missing time due to injury in 2019, the Steelers offense could find itself in a tricky position in 2020 as the tandem of Big Ben and Smith-Schuster will be relied on quite heavily.

If this duo can weather the storm early alongside staying healthy for the entire season, things might start to look up in Pittsburgh. However, if Roethlisberger and Smith-Schuster take on too much of the workload, a tough division and lack of depth could sink the Steelers sooner rather than later—and prevent the receiver from maximizing his fantasy football potential.
