The Dallas Mavericks are in a great position this offseason, even after a first round exit in the NBA Playoffs. They lost to the Los Angeles Clippers in seven games despite a great performance from Luka Doncic. The superstar guard has emerged as one of the top players in the NBA.
Doncic averaged 35.7 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 10.3 assists per game against the Clippers. He also shot a high percentage from the three-point line at 40.8 percent. He shot 35.0 percent from long distance in the regular season, which shows he elevates his play in the postseason.
The offseason is where the Mavericks could turn themselves into a championship contender. Free agency has a ton of talent, including young forward John Collins. Collins was vital for the Atlanta Hawks' run to the Eastern Conference Finals. He would be a great addition to the Mavericks next to Doncic.

Collins is a great shooter who would be able to play this perfectly as well. This pick-and-roll would be tough to stop with Doncic and Collins both being great scorers.

A big problem the Mavericks faced in the postseason was not having enough scorers. Doncic was creating shots for himself and others but needed more around him. Collins would be able to solve that problem as he can create his own shot. He can also play off the ball, which would make him a perfect co-star to Luka Doncic.
