Forget about Bitcoins. For now, it appears that a preseason wager on the Philadelphia Eagles to win Super Bowl LII is the better investment. According to ESPN, those who laid money on the Eagles to win it all on Feb. 4 are a Philly victory away from hitting paydirt.

Prior to the season, most sportsbooks had Philadelphia sitting on odds of 40-1 to take home the franchise’s first-ever Vince Lombardi Trophy this year. In other words, a $100 bet on the Eagles to accomplish the feat would yield bettors $4,000 if Philadelphia manages to take down the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. Speaking of the Patriots, the defending Super Bowl champions were only pegged with odds of 5-2, meaning a $100 bet will translate to $250 should Tom Brady and company win again.

The Eagles managed to book a spot in the Super Bowl despite missing Carson Wentz in this postseason because of a knee injury. Nick Foles has been a fantastic replacement for Wentz under center, as he successfully steered the Eagles past the Atlanta Falcons and the Minnesota Vikings in the divisional round and in the conference championship game, respectively, despite being labeled as underdogs in both matchups.

Philly will be underdogs once again in its showdown with New England, as the Eagles are currently given a 5.5-point advantage against the Patriots.

If anything, the Eagles have won and covered the spread in three of their last four games as postseason underdogs. Moreover, they are 8-1 against the spread in eight of their previous 10 games against favorites in the playoffs dating back to 2000.
