Ahead of the All-Star weekend festivities on Sunday, Adam Silver spoke to the media about multiple topics pertaining to the NBA. Among the topics he spoke about, Silver responded to Kyrie Irving's opinion on changing the NBA's logo to Kobe Bryant, via Marc Stein of The New York Times.

Late last month, Kyrie Irving came out and shared that he believed that it is time for the logo to be altered by the league. Irving would proceed to name Bryant as the most deserving player of replacing Jerry West as the logo.

Despite the desire of Kyrie Irving to see Bryant become the logo of the NBA, Silver doesn't seem to share the same opinion. While Silver likely wouldn't be against the idea of making Bryant the logo, the league doesn't believe that there is a need to change the logo at this time.

When Doc Rivers, the head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers, was asked about the idea of altering the logo, he shared a similar sentiment to what Silver expressed, and not in line with Kyrie Irving. Even though Rivers uttered that Michael Jordan is the most deserving player of the prestigious honor, he doesn't believe it's necessary to remove West as the logo right now.

The conversation on whether or not the logo needs a makeover has always popped up every now and then. But with West not having any off-the-court issues, the NBA doesn't see the point in removing him as the logo, in contrast to Kyrie Irving. Plus, the league office likely has bigger issues to deal with than making someone else the new face of the league.

Kyrie Irving has his own strong opinions, but aside from the separate Michael Jordan angle, there is also an underlying conversation about Kobe Bryant's off-court life — specifically a much-publicized sexual assault case in Colorado involving a younger woman — and whether that part of Kobe's past would make it appropriate for the NBA to change its logo.
