During a conference call on Friday, NBA commissioner Adam Silver said if there is a “significant spread” of COVID-19 at the “bubble” games, the league may have to shut the games down.

Silver also admitted that the league is going to have to learn to live with the coronavirus.

16 NBA players have tested positive for COVID-19 out of 302 players that were tested. Nikola Jokic, Buddy Hield, Malcolm Brogdon, Alex Len and Jabari Parker were among the players to test positive.

Tests were administered earlier this week, as teams came back to their respective markets to prepare for the resumption of the season at Walt Disney World.

Silver says his level of concern has increased about the “bubble” games since COVID-19 cases continue to rise, not just in Florida, but around the country.

However, the NBA's boss says sports are very important right now since it brings people together.

The “bubble” games are set to begin on July 30 at the Walt Disney Resort. 22 NBA teams will be on the campus and three hotels will be used to house them.

The first round of the 2020 NBA playoffs is set to start in late August, with the Finals scheduled to conclude no later than Oct. 13.

The 22 teams staying in Orlando, Florida will play eight seeding games as selected from their remaining regular-season matchups from the original 2019-20 schedule. After the seeding games are done, the seven teams in each conference with the best-combined records across regular-season games and seeding games will compete in the 2020 postseason.

NBA teams were informed on Thursday they will be able to replace staff members who test positive for coronavirus on campus and are unable to work.
