Former MLB All-Star CC Sabathia had strong words for Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa ahead of Houston's American League Division Series matchup with the Oakland Athletics.

Correa said after the Astros defeated the Minnesota Twins in the Wild Card Series the team's critics would have to reckon with Houston advancing in the playoffs.

Sabathia did not take kindly to Correa's chiding:

“They cheated and then they’re mad at us. Like get the f—k out of here,” Sabathia said, via Dan Menella of Radio.com. “It’s a f—king joke. And then you finish under .500 this year. Like, shut the f—k up … The kid’s a clown, I’m sorry.”

The Astros have been exposed to backlash following revelations they used video technology to decode signs during their 2017 World Series campaign.

Correa has been brash and unapologetic in his response to the scandal since the start of spring training. But his words have not fallen kindly on Sabathia's ears.

The former New York Yankees left-hander noted he respects Astros manager Dusty Baker, but also made his feelings about the Astros organization very clear:

“He’s like a big uncle, so that’s my guy,” Sabathia said, via Menella. “So, for him to be managing, I’m happy that he was able to win another playoff series. Shows how great of a manager he is. But man, f—k them dudes, man.”

It comes as no surprise Sabathia has disdain for the Astros given the Yankees' previous playoff battles with Houston.

However, Correa is unlikely to stop speaking his mind, especially if the Astros manage to get past the Athletics in the ALDS.
