After finishing their 2019 campaign with a subpar record, the Chicago Bears are finally hitting their stride in the early stages of the 2020 NFL season thus far. The entire team stepped up to carve out victories from two tightly-contested games.

Bears head coach Matt Nagy however doesn't want to dwell on their undefeated record. Instead, he stressed the importance of improving in their coming games:

“I would say we’re just OK right now,” he said, via Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times. “I think we expect a little better… I don’t want to take away from the fact that we’re 2-0 right now. We are 2-0, but what’s great about that is we know, in a lot of areas, we can get a lot better.”

The team escaped Detroit with a 27-23 win over the Lions due to a dropped pass by opposing rookie running back D'Andre Swift. It was another lucky day for the Bears as New York Giants' star running back in Saquon Barkley was sidelined due to a torn ACL injury. The third-year player's absence for Big Blue limited the team's offensive attacks to which the Bears promptly exploited.

Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky made decent plays under center and threw a total of 190 passing yards on an 18 of 28 clip along with two touchdown passes. Veteran ball-carrier David Montgomery left the game early due to a neck injury but came back and finished with 82 rushing yards on 16 touches.

Their next opponent in the Atlanta Falcons are certainly more dangerous than what their winless record suggests. However, a convincing win on the road could probably change Nagy's perception of his team.
