The Buffalo Bills will square off with the Baltimore Ravens in a much-anticipated matchup on Saturday night in the AFC Divisional Round.

Ahead of his upcoming playoff tilt, Josh Allen revealed how the Bills can have success against the Ravens.

“Our plan is obviously try to protect it when we can’t get out of a play and get into something where you can manage,” Allen said, via Chris Simms of NBC Sports. “Our guys know to look quick this week. . . . They’re going to blitz it. They know that. We know that. It’s if we can stop it or not, and I really think that’s going to be the key to the game.”

First and foremost, Allen realizes that taking care of the football will be vastly important against the Ravens. Giving more possessions to Lamar Jackson and Baltimore's grueling rushing attack could decide the outcome of the game, which makes it paramount the Bills retain possession.

Additionally, Allen knows that the Ravens are going to blitz often on the defensive end. During the regular season, Baltimore's defense blitzed on 44.1 percent of the opposing team's dropbacks, which was the most in the NFL.

Provided that, the Bills' up-and-coming passer knows that he and the wide receivers have to be prepared to connect on quick passes to nullify the blitz. The third-year quarterback could also utilize his rushing ability to escape pressure and create plays with his legs to frustrate Baltimore's defense.

It's a battle of quarterbacks in the 2018 NFL Draft between Allen and Jackson on Saturday night. But it could be the chess match between Allen and Baltimore's blitz-heavy defense that could be the determining factor to who advances to the AFC Championship Game—Bills or Ravens.
