After former offensive coordinator Brian Daboll was poached by the New York Giants, the Buffalo Bills found themselves looking to fill the void he left behind. It didn't take long for the Bills to fill their vacancy, as the team opted to promote from within, with a hire that's sure to have star quarterback Josh Allen fired up. According to Alaina Getzenberg, the Bills have named Ken Dorsey as their new offensive coordinator.

This is a significant move for the Bills, who managed to keep Dorsey on the staff despite Daboll's reported interest in bringing the coach with him to the Giants. Dorsey had been the Bills' quarterbacks coach since 2019 and added the role of passing game coordinator to his title in 2021. Allen had been advocating for Dorsey's promotion after it was made clear Daboll would be leaving the team, and it seems the Bills took Allen's wishes into consideration when making their decision. Dorsey has been influential in Allen's success in the NFL, so it makes sense that the former first-round pick was in favor of the new hire.

Dorsey played college football at the University of Miami, where he played quarterback for four seasons from 1999-2002. During his tenure at The U, Dorsey threw 86 touchdown passes and 25 interceptions, finishing seventh in Heisman voting in 2002. He played five years in the NFL, featuring in 17 games for the San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns from 2004-2008.

While he didn't have much success on the field as a player, he's excelled as a coach. Prior to joining the Bills, Dorsey served as the Carolina Panthers' quarterbacks coach from 2013-17. In 2018, Dorsey held a brief stint as the Assistant Athletic Director at Florida International University, before joining the Bills as the quarterbacks coach in 2019.
