C.J. McCollum is outspoken about his Cleveland Browns fandom and the Portland Trail Blazers star is apologizing to Denzel Ward for doubting him. McCollum lives and dies with the Browns every week and after Ward's big game led Cleveland to its second win of the season, McCollum made sure to shout out the rookie on Twitter.

Denzel Ward was taken with the fourth overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft. On Sunday, Ward showed exactly why he was taken so high by the Browns. His red zone interception in the second quarter served as a turning point in the game. The Baltimore Ravens were poised to take a two-score lead, but Ward jumped the route and picked off Joe Flacco.

Although Baker Mayfield and the offense struggled to put up touchdowns, Ward and the defense held the line. The Ravens were held to nine points and failed to find the end zone.

McCollum didn't limit his effusive praise for Ward. He also made sure to thank the entire defense and his rookie quarterback. Mayfield put together a strong performance, connecting on 58 percent of his passes for 342 yards. He threw one touchdown against one pick.

Despite Mayfield's strong performance, this game was won by the defense. The team's ability to bend, but not break was on full display against the division rival Ravens. Ward's interception set the tone for the rest of the game. The Browns take on the Los Angeles Chargers at home next Sunday. You can bet that the Blazers star will be tuning in for that and maybe he'll have a Denzel Ward jersey on in honor of one of his new favorite players.
